Female power all around on Lauter Unfug’s 24th release. The main part is captured by the dynamic Amsterdam-based duo BLACK GIRL / WHITE GIRL, who debuting on our label. Within two years the girls roughed up the house and tech-house scene with striking releases on labels like Hector Couto’s Roush, Supernova’s Lapsus Music or Flashmob Records. The ‘Unjacked EP’ includes besides the three tracks one remix by Vonda7, who is the Berlin-based import from Poland, impressing recently with eclectic techno releases on Last Night On Earth, Second State or Suara.
All originals are based on a modern house groove and indeed those are the ones which make the floors shaking. Bumpy in the front on tight basses, the classy way of house is transformed into contemporary forms. While the title track comes with an anthem-wise hint and the freshness of ‘See It Comin” is hard to beat, the ‘Good Ol’ Days’ – as the name says – shines with a wide piano chord. Vonda7 takes this one into a straight but deeper mode – piles up a tension with a swirling voice and puts a satisfying smile on the pleasure seeker’s face.
