Who is your biggest inspiration? / Who do you have a lot of respect for?
– Namedropping: Prince, Roy Hargrove, Siriusmo, Todd Terje, Nick Höppner, Bobby Sparks, Vulfpeck, Pink Floyd, Brecker Brothers, Kendrick Lamar and many others…
What is one track that got popular that you can’t stand?
Im very sorry to say this, but I truly hate „Summer of 69“ with my whole heart! Play this song and we wont be friends. Ever!… Same goes for „Changes“ by the Scorpions, fucking hate it! And mumble rap from acts like Lil Xen and some (not all!) austrian trap acts is just a terrible mystery to me. But Jokes aside! I actually like all kind of music and love that fact how much joy it can ring to anybody, regardless of what they like to listen to and what moves them.
How did you come to electronic music and what’s your favourite own track?
I startet playing the piano when I was five and spent my first 15 years playing mainly classical music and jazz. Electronic music came pretty late to me. I was maybe 23 or 24, when i started doing some sort of piano house live act, that evolved around dancefloors. Since then i got sucked in by the fascination of dance music and the creative freedom it gives you. My own favorite track? Hm, …probably Zenyata. Released on Feines Tier.
If you could eternally be stuck in one year’s music scene, which year would it be?
Got to say 76 or 77. I really love classic rock. Bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple are mind-blowing to me. Would have loved to play as an organ player like John Lord (R.I.P. my hero!) in a band like this!
Are you able to share any of your secret tricks with me?+
I know this one really amazing trick. It works like magic. Its called practice and rehearsing. You wont believe whats it gonna do to you if you do it. Amazing!
What things not to miss on your DJ gigs (except your DJ gear)
My face! I do the weirdest faces when i play.
What is something that bugs you about the DJ scene?
Its bugs me, that a lot of my colleagues put way more effort into their marking skills then their artistic output and actually have more success that way. But I guess just how the world works.
